Concha - a wonderful, beloved Huichol medicine woman. Acrylic 15x30
Concha greeted me in Real De Catorce, Mexico; she sang for me in ceremony and the night before I started this painting, her image jumped onto the canvas. She is kind, pure, connected and loving.

Hale Makua - pastel An amazing Soul who came through as I painted this portrait, becoming a guide and teacher for me from the other side. I prayed a lot where he used to do sunrise ceremony at the edge of the crater in Volcanoes National Park on the Big Island. I prayed before I started, prayed throughout the process and especially before painting the eyes. His kindness, wisdom and great compassion touch me every day. He has come through this image to many others and I am profoundly grateful. "We actually come into this world as gods. It's just that we have forgotten who we really are as well as what this really means" H
